Ndou demands rematch! Former IBF junior welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou says he is exercising an option in his contract for an immediate rematch with current champ Paul Malignaggi and has written to promoter Lou DiBella requesting that he make the rematch as soon as possible. "I have been told the IBF has no objection to our rematch and the rematch with Malignaggi must happen," said Ndou. "I gave him the opportunity to fight for the world title in the first place and he gave me his word after the fight that he would honour the contract for a rematch. Lou DiBella is an astute businessman and I believe they will keep their word. I have had some talks with my advisor Al Haymon who I have got all the trust in, my legal people and manager Bill Treacy and I believe the fight will happen." _____________________________________________ There should be a rule that if you don't win a round in the first fight then you can't get a rematch.
And what happen if they fight and Malinaggi is dominating him again and then he break his anckle or some stupid **** like that and N'dou wins and they have to fight a third fight????
Malignaggi completely owned N'Dou. I can understand that Lovemore wants a rematch cause he's a fighter and of course he believes he can beat Paulie but he got taken apart by the Magic Man. Its not a good move career-wise for either man, and due to the one-sided nature of the first fight, not a match-up that is desired by anyone in the Boxing community.
He wants another payday, and Paulie cant punch! So N'dou can show up lose 12-0 , and go home unfazed with another nice check.
How is it a not a good career move for Lovemore? Granted, it's a fight that almost no one has an interest in seeing, but it's probably the only shot he has left at a good payday. The guy is 35 years old. The clause is in the contract, so I don't blame him for going after the rematch.
NDou is a prat. He lost by a mile. He also called for a rematch after Junior Witter had whipped him real good a couple of years ago!!
