Financially, I can't imagine it's the best move for either guy. N'dou could make more money fighting a tomato can in Australia now that he'd only get a 40% share (and since no TV network in their right mind would buy the fight), and Paulie would make more fighting any of the guys who have been proposed for his next fight.

I have to imagine this is a ploy to get Paulie to pay N'dou step-aside money to get rid of the rematch clause so he can fight Salita to a sold-out MSG Theater with a small PPV. If they really think N'dou would make more $$ back in Australia, they could even call his bluff and just tell him to sue if he wants the rematch so bad, but I don't think the $$ is so divergent that it's obvious that this is a bluff.

Basically, N'dou will get some money, but this fight will NEVER happen.

Also, does anyone know what he's talking about about the ref being biased? The ref wasn't very good (on either side of the fight), but I don't see how anything he did changed the outcome of a single round, much less the entire fight...

Actually, Ndou doesn't make much fighting in Aus. It's probably his best option financially to chase a rematch.
He's just about at the end of his road too, so for his best interests, he should chase the fight for the money.

CALZAGHE - I DON'T WANT TO GET ARRESTED!

Double World Champion Joe Calzaghe fears he could be arrested if Jeff Lacy gets his wish of rematch against the world's number one super-middleweight!

The undefeated Welshman gave the mouthy American a boxing master class lesson in March when he put on one of the finest ring displays ever by a British boxer to unify the WBO and IBF world titles.

Lacy will have his first fight since that drubbing in December at his hometown of Tampa, Florida, on the Winky Wright vs. Ike Quartey card and wants a rematch with Calzaghe after he's had a few more fights.

A bemused Calzaghe, who is preparing to defend his titles against Sakio Bika at the M.E.N Arena on Saturday 14th October, said, "Is this guy crazy or is he still concussed?"

"I can give Lacy 1006 good reason why he should not get a rematch against me because that's the number of times I landed with punches on the night and I can count the number of times he caught me on one hand - four,"

"Lacy will never be the same fighter again after the one-sided beating I gave him and how can he call for a rematch when the first fight wasn't even close or controversial, the only controversy is why his corner didn't pull him out of the fight sooner,"

He added, "If Lacy gets in the ring with me again I'm scared I will get arrested for aggravated assault!"
"Anyway, it's his buddies in Florida that I'm gunning for Winky Wright and Antonio Tarver who are both on the run from me, the only way I'll get them in the ring is if a bounty hunter manages to catch 'em!"

BUT, if he gets the choice of taking $50k to step aside, or taking $80k and ending up with another loss on his record, he should probably take the former and not the latter.

Seems pointless to us, but a contract was signed with that specific clause in it. So there's not much that can be said about it. He's fully entitled to his remtach.

Yes he's a Jerkoff.. I agree 100%. He got DOMINATED so I don't know what he's crying about.. He also got away with alot of dirty tactics and he was also steppin on Paulies foot on PURPOSE and the ref never said anything about it.. I rather see Paulie fight someone like Hatton or Vivian Harris or one of the other top 140lbers then Ndou

The ref allowed absolutely ZERO in fighting. All you heard the entire time was "stop, stop, stop, break, stop, etc." There were a lot of posters saying the same thing the day after the fight. In the Interview with N'dou he was saying that the ref completely took his game away from him and was giving him warnings for things he didn't even do. He also said if the JLC/Hatton match was reffed that way it could have turned out different. Watch it again, N'dou has a point.
