what exactly are all the issues and what exactly is going on? how does it negatively impact the sport of boxing. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in this issue? Thanks for your input.
oscar hates arum. floyd hates arum. both hate him because it looks like arum fu--ed them both when they were with him. al works with schaefer. hbo works with arum. sho works with oscar and al. and thats about it. lot of bad blood.
GBP were milking HBO. HBO told them to **** off. Thats the short version. Think about Mayweather leaving for ShowTime and GBP counter programming HBO with HBO products. GBP taking Alvarez(made into a star on HBO) to Showtime on the same night that HBO has a big PPV lined up(Chavez Jr-Martinez). I would be pissed off. This is an example among many others. And to anyone wondering, the last fight GBP and TR copromoted was Gamboa vs Ponce De Leon
It's a pretty long story. Here's what I've gathered; GBP vs. Top Rank - Beef started when Pacquiao signed with GBP despite being under contract with Top Rank. Beef was reignited due to GBP staging cards during Top Rank ppv shows. GBP vs. HBO - The issues started when HBO hired Hershman. His departure from Showtim lead to Espinoza being hired at Showtime. Espinoza used to work at GBP and has a close relationship with Schaefer. He pretty much gave GBP as many dates as they wanted. GBP responded by bringing more of their talent to Showtime. That culminated with Mayweather leaving for Showtime. That really angered HBO and they decided to severe ties with GBP. Al Haymon - Haymon is like the Drew Rosenhaus of boxing. His interest is soley on his fighters and he takes it pretty seriously. This leads to friction with others in the industry as the best interest of the fighter isn't always the same as the networks, promoters, fans. He does have a close relationship with Schaefer though.
:think Might have. I know that TR dumped Martirosyan after the loss. I dont know about Lara´s promotional background. THis would be actually good news, for my ears anyways.
That fight went to purse bid. The only way you will see GBP and TR fighters in against each other are in the case of purse bid fights. The WBO ordered a Russell vs. Lomachenko fight for the vacant WBO FW title. That fight will go to a purse bid(assuming both guys elect to fight for the title) and the winning bid will be the sole promoter.

Although obviously besides being in the different era that we're in today Haymon works with more fighters overall than M.Trainer did in his day.
