I got to know about this boxing competition at short-notice. I havent trained for a month ( had trained for 2 months continously before).

I have been training for 2 days now and the fight will be after 5 days.

Now I know that I havent trained enough to take part in this competition but still I want as I have waited long enough for a fight to take place.

So I need some advice as in how to get a good performance in this competition.

I am a swarmer and I am thinking of brawling with over-aggression to get a knockout.

Get some sparring done before the match and try to fight with your normal style.

Do you think you have the conditioning to take that approach?

And that my friend, is what is going to get you knocked out.

OT: Get some sparring done to adjust yourself to the ring even though i find it to early

I've been told to never go into a fight looking for a knockout, especially if it's your first fight.

Just go in, give it your all and don't come out thinking you could have done more. I'm hardlys experienced because I only just had my first fight the other week, just try and keep composed and remember that he's human the same as you are.

I have been training 2-3 times a day , I know I cant build endurance in such a short time.

I cant pull out because I have waited almost 8 months for a competition to happen and there many pyshological factors which wont let me pull out.

I know I dont have the technique and I cant do anything about it now. So I am thinking going into the match with rage. This worked for me in sparring but real fight is still different.

I am a natural swarmer and I am not good with combinations and my defence. My jab has no power. I am only good with crosses and hooks.

    So any honest tips ?

90% of am boxing can be one with only a jab.

you my friend, are gonna need a KO. Also your jab does not have to have power, its the punch to step up all other punches, and to score points.

Come in with 100 % cardio fit.
    Have a very busy jab.
    Do not wait to counter.
    Be 1st.
    Counter his counters.
If he hits you once, hit him back 3 times.
    Plan on winning every round.

If you train that much before the fight you wont be 100% in the fight night.
Have couple of rounds sparring done and light training day before the fight but dont burn yourself up

    Let me inform you.
The jab is the most important punch in boxing.
If you cant hit him with your jab, your not going to hit him with anything else.
There is 101 ways to use it.
You can control the whole fight with your jab, and it sets up everything else.
And, yes --- they absolutely give points for jabs.
If you are telling him to go for the KO, you are setting him up for failure.
You never look for the KO -- especially 1st fight.
You box him, beat him up, and knock him out later.
They emphasis for winning should be on technical skills and work rate.

Hmm. They changed scoring this year, to count more powerful more power punches.
Yeah jab is very important punch in the boxing but in amateur boxing they don’t give you points for it very often. You have to hit good power jab to get point nowdays

But of course it’s crucial to open opportunities to you,
