    Hello Everyone,

I started boxing on the amateur level recently, and I am confused as to what weight class I belong in. I have an awkward build

    - I am 5'11
    -Natural weight around 180-183 lbs
-long arms, long thick legs, long back
    -Very broad shoulders

My coach told me to cut to 174. When I did I felt sluggish and weak.
So I think I am to big for LHW, yet too small for the upper classes.
Any advice will be appreciated!!! :thumbsup

    Thanks for your reply.

My sparring partner is around 6'1 192 lbs, and I normally fare well against him.

Maybe I belong in the 200 lb. limit?

I agree that the over 200lb. class is too big for me.

Get a body fat test. Your goal at your weight should be like 8-12% I guess. Just take what the test gives you and subtract 10 or so %. Multiply by current body weight. That should be your weight ideally, without water loss.
