I´m 14 and started boxing for about 5 month ago.im training for myself at home becuse the nearest gym is far away.I train almost every day but not really sure if my training is correct.I usually start the pass in the middle of the day but now when the summer has come its to hot so i train in the afternoon(20:00)I start by warming up,then run about 2.5 km,20 push-up and 40 sit-ups,heavy bag(i could only afford 15 kg,60 cm ),shadowboxing,speed bag,heavuy lifting and repeat.I know i need more equipment but i dont have the money and instead of handwrap i use bandage.and the last 4 days i havent been able to train becuse of sickness/allergic.can someone give me some good training setup tips.
Training at home is good for fitness but you need to do all you can to get to a gym. Coaches will offer you technique training which you wont be able to teach yourself. Also the workouts you should vary your workouts to try to keep them from becoming stale, again a coach will do this for you. You will also learn from other people who are training and boxing. Really - I know you said the gym is far and I currently have a problem that the I work till late so cant really get to a gym - but the benefits are just too great. You need to get to a gym!
thanks i have been thinking about trying to join a gym now that it is summer but i will maybe only be able to get 1 or 2 days a week
You'll get more out of those one or two days than 2 months at home without any guidance! Try all you can to get down as often as you can!
How many miles away is your closet gym maybe you can catch a bus or better yet ride a bike thats how I get to mine.
Same here. I actually enjoy the small cardio session after workout a lot. On my way to the gym I take my time, I don't want to step into the ring without legs. I just measured it on Google maps, I live 4.3 miles away from my gym. On the way home I take a small detour, total distance included in workout is 10.01 miles
I dont have a bike right now and 4 miles...i thought that was pretty long, oh well, but i think i take the train to start with.
Good man im exactly the same as you. I love taking the bike to and from its a nice warm up and cool down. Like you im about 4.7 miles away from my gym I try to leave a hour before im do into the gym so I can take my time and just get that little warmup without burining the legs off.
hi i´m back.havent joined the gym yet but i will do that soon eventually. I just realized i was(and always has)standing in southpaw position but im naturally right handed.i feel i can throw a pretty hard straight left.but my right feels stronger than my left and most fighters dont wanna fight southpaws i heard.should i change to orthodox?
