I have a fight this friday (Kickboxing). I always have a real problem in my fights with my feet slipping. No joke, have to fight barefoot of course and it's huge distraction and effects my mobility. Does anyone have any advice, anyone else compete have this problem also. I don't know what to do to my feet to improve traction. It ring ****ing sucks! The ring I train in is great, I never slip...but whenever I fight on this card, I'm thinking about my feet slipping all frigg'n night long. :deal

Are you allowed to use the ankle supports ? I have never personally needed to use tape or supports but ive been told they help give alittle more traction and they arent to pricy im just not sure if they are legal in a kickboxing match although I cant see why they wouldnt.

Yeah I guess I could wear them under my boots. I wear shin guards, boots (padding above foot) and gloves. What type of ankle supports are you suggesting?

I just do boxing and BJJ, so I don't have that problem. But, if I were you I would try this one time before the fight. But i'm pretty sure it would work. Don't put the whole bottle, but just enough to get that sticky feeling.

Jeff Monson wore some ankle wraps with a grippy bit on the bottom; him and Dennis Hallman were developing them, I can't seem to find them.

I don't know I love honey. You can eat it, drink it, put it on your face, on your hair and even on your girlfriend's *****.

Personally I put it in my oat the morning, and I have energy like Librado Andrade for the rest of the day.

Pour some cola on the floor let it dry a bit then step into it. No need for honey :). People do that for BJJ.

I never had problems myself though.

If slipping is the biggest of your problems your should be thankful.

Advice, none really it's the same for both fighters.
