There was a post some month ago about Dana White getting all the credit for something he hasn't done. Anybody remember that ? If my memory is good I think it was about Dana White didn't bring the MMA to a mainstream level. But Beebs maybe right and I'm wrong, maybe it was all about the rule change in the UFC that permitted them to go into more states. Any help would be greatly appreciated !
You remember when it was ? Or the name of the article ? cause i,ve been looking into the archive, I'm at october 2008 ans still nothing
http://espn.go.com/extra/mma/blog/_/name/mma/id/5494102/the-zuffa-myth-ufc-auteur-theory That's the column you're thinking of. But you're WAY overstating its argument. The guy is not arguing that the UFC was mainstream/successful when Zuffa bought it - just that there were already some important elements in place i.e. the brand name within the MMA world and things like rules, weight classes and in Jersey, regulation.
Thx for the article that's exactly the one I was looking for. Yeah you guy's are right, I overstated what was said. But my opinion of White still the same, I don't like the american marketing model...
