I've been using everlast protex 2 gloves, and it's wearing off with holes in thumb and velcro strap falling off. So I thought it's time for new gloves. First I have question about whether it matters or not to use sparring gloves on bags. Preferably, I wanted to buy sparring gloves instead of bag gloves since I can just use my old worn out gloves for bags. Also what are some good gloves that fit well for small hands? Thank you and excuse my grammar since English is my 2nd language.
If you want the heavier gloves for protection (16oz, or at least 14oz-dont know your weight) the gloves are most probably gonna fit bigger. I have a pair of Fairtex gloves that I do bag work and spar with (although I know some people want to with a pair strictly for sparring) and they do fit a smaller. Fairtex is a muy thai brand but I love the way they feel for boxing. Whenever I wore gloves that I felt were too big for me, I just doubled the pair of wraps I was wearing (two pairs of 180 inch Mexicans). As for wearing old, beat up gloves on the bag, I suggest you wear a better pair of gloves with adequate protection while doing bagwork because it is there that are you are more likely to sustain injury.
Twins gloves are pretty snug on the hand so may be worth a try, in fact most muay thai brands cater well for smaller sizes.
I don't know about the small hands,but regarding the velcro,I got a pair of Rival RB1's a few weeks ago and the wrist lock system is a vast improvement on anything I've had in the past. Thoroughly enjoying them.Would recommend.
i got pretty small hands man, and the brands that will you get the best fit are thai brands because well i guess people there have small hands! I'm using kimurawear gloves they fit pretty good! also i recommend top king or boon! Ive tried twins personally for me they were too wide!
I have two pairs, one 16 and one 10ounce. I swear by these gloves, best pair you can get without spending too much.
As the lads have already mentioed you should probably pickup a pair of Thai gloves, the sizes come up smaller. They also tend to be a little more padded round the wrist useful for sparring (designed to take kicks) and always last forever! For an al lround Pad/Bag?Spar I'd say go for Twinns, durable, quality longeviy nad well padded round the wrists.
