So I'm about 6'1, 155 pounds. Needless to say I'm a taller, lanky kind of guy, and I'm looking to really bulk up this summer. Thankfully I've got friends who lift competitively, and they've offered to help me achieve my mass gain goals. However, as I've said in the past, I'm also interested in starting boxing this summer. My main concern is burning out from weightlifting and then going to box. I don't want sloppy form from muscle fatigue, and I don't want any of the boxing to conflict with resting periods which could stunt muscle growth. My question is would it be a better decision to hold off on the boxing until this August (Next school year) and just go ahead and focus on bulking up this summer? Or would it be possible to lift and learn to box at the same time?
Get big for the summer mate, you'll regret being a scrawn when you cant get the ladies! Just hold off the boxing till next year and miss out on great conditioning, good fun and chance to learn how to defend yourself.
