Hi, ESB... Recently the joint between my knuckle and the finger nail is hurting from the bagwork. (Not the first time) I was wondering what is the name of that joint/bone and why is it hurting. I close my fists tight but it still connects with the bag and handwraps don't cover that area. thanks
It could be anything from a swollen hand to bruised joints but are you wrapping your hand's up correctly. I know this does happen for a boxer to damage there hand's but you said this isnt the first time. best thing to do is go see your coach and if it isnt sorted then just pay a vist to the your doctor as it wouldn't hurt actually finding out there what's wrong. But i would say just add more padding or go easy for a few weeks and see how the hand hold's up.
ahh, yup i think it is a bruised joint. Thanks for the info, was trying to figure out what it was called so i could google it for more information. for my hands i wrap my hands correctly, the only part i do differently (miss out) are my thumbs but they haven't gave me any problems so i continue to wrap this way. thanks for the info!
