Might as well get use to punching a whole lot, so do a lot of shadow boxing. But focus on technique, go as slow as you need, to keep proper technique. Here's one great tip to implement with your running and punching workouts: Keep a tennis or racquet ball tucked under your chin to get used to keeping that chin tucked and not in the air when boxing.
You are asking the wrong group of people. These silly-sap-sucking *******s in the general forum have never step a single toe inside a damn boxing gym...NEVER!
Best way to do it is to get into a gym. Try doing cardio if you really must. A few push ups and crunches.
