You know a good one... Eating nothing. Why anybody would care about this is beyond me. You play sports? You need energy for that? Food is for energy and nutrients, why would you be trying to eat something that has **** all in it.
maybe to lose weight while not feeling hungry. When someone has their meals sorted and are hungry for a snack wouldnt it be better to have a calorie less snack instead of added cals?
Oh and you suppose something like celery is really suitable for an athlete who trains with any type of intensity, why would you let it get to a stage where your snacking on negative calorie foods like celery I dont know.
It's pointless. If you're hungry eat something worth some value or don't eat. You're not going to gain 10lbs overnight because you ate a piece of fruit. OP, I don't get why you're worried about consuming calories?
To be quite honest, you dont have to get it. I asked a question, you gave me advice. Thats all it is, advice. Im sorry if im coming off the wrong way, or if your coming off the wrong way.:thumbsup
There is no such thing as negative calorie foods. What is actually happening is this: You are not consuming the same number of calories as you were before hence you are expending more calories through daily workout and your BMR while taking in fewer calories with lettuce and celery. You do lose weight but it has nothing to do with digestion...
Actually there are foods like celery that require more energy to digest then they give. So they are "negative calories"
I doubt that celery actually is 'negative calorie'. To be honest i do not give a **** if it does or dosen't, my views/opinions have completely changed since then anyway, this thread is from a long while ago where I knew **** all about nutrition. Not claiming to be an expert now, but i was clueless when this thread was made:-(.
It was only two months ago I don't see why a food can't have 'negative calories' in the sense that it takes more energy to digest that what it actually contains. I'm sure eating handfuls of earth, or sand, would require more energy to process than they provide.
Haha, i know. Not utterly clueless, i mean i knew certain things. I was just kind of stuck on some magical answer to weight loss, and reading the wrong kind of **** for a short period, and it lead me to a spur of the moment 'oh my god, negative calorie food'. And anyway, you can educate yourself rather a lot if you do the right kind of research, and spend enough time on it, in two months.
