Former WBA heavyweight champion*David Hayetells BBC Radio 5 live that*Tyson Fury*rejected the offer of a fight: "We contacted his people after he made some big bold statements that I would never fight again after I fought him and that he was desperate to fight me."We contacted his manager, Mick Hennessy, and he said he would go down another route and wouldn't fight me."It was big talk from Tyson and I was serious about negotiating the fight but he said 'no thank you' and that quashed that fight, but it would've caused a lot of excitement."

Good move from team Fury, no need to get into a fight with Haye just yet.

The best move from Team Fury would to have been to gag Tyson and stop him mouthing off about Haye in the first place. That way he wouldn't look such a gormless **** now.

True but he's trying to build a name for himself and mouthing off about Haye will get people's attention. Similar to how he was mouthing off ufc and last week ufc president said he was interested in putting their hw champ in with fury :rofl

Its a tough fight, but a fight I think he can win.. Its tough at the top now any route he takes but I think this is the easiest..

I'm suprised Mick isn't taking Fury down the WBA regular title route - whilst we all know that it's not a genuine title, the general public wouldn't know any better.

Im glad there doing it the right way to be honest. The guys 24 years old and in that position. You got to have something about you to achieve what he has at his age. I think time is the key now. I reckon he will get his title shot and get beat, then he will slowly build himself up again and he will get his world title that time round..

Yep, I know some of it's apart of his act and his appeal but really he just looks daft calling out people then not going through with It he needs someone to put him on a leash !.

I like Fury, I will always watch his fights. There seem to be two versions - the one eager to please, and the other eager to succeed. The former will get repeatedly clocked by overhand rights and lose to quite a few people, the later will be more patient and beat most opponents (e.g. Fury of the Kingpin fight).

If Fury wants to maintain his unbeaten record his best bet is to try and keep his feet on the ground and not get carried away with trying to impress people. When he fights he needs to make the most of his physical attributes and not rush to press the fight so early on each time.

If the former faces Pulev, then that is a very risky fight, if the later faces Pulev then it will be close, rough affair, but Fury could just nick it on points.

Khan's biggest weakenss, besides his chin, is his desperation to be seen as exciting and macho. That could well be Fury's biggest weakness if he doesn't sort it out.

I hope he gets this fight. It is what I want from boxing, good fighters fighting good fighters to see who has the best chance of beating the champion. That is what the sport should be a bout, nothing else.

If Fury loses? So what, he lost to a respected up and comer and will have gained the sort of experience and wisdom that his ego seems to stop him absorbing at the minute. He then comes back and goes for another shot.

If he wins? Brilliant. Again he gains in facing a good fighter and besting him, in both experience and more importantly confidence. The confidence to truly know that you are very good.

I couldnt give a toss if a fighter has losses on his list, what I hate more are worthless 30 and 0 records and **** fights.

This is the sort of match making that benefits both fighters and the sport. **** the easy route.

I agree with that for the most part. I think Fury v Pulev is a great matchup. They only time that I ever condone any degree of cherry picking (which picking Pulev is not) is because I want to see the most exciting fights. Let me clarify that - on occasions a fight might be highly risky, rather boring, and actually jeopardise some much more interesting and exciting fights in future. We can all appreciate how fickle boxing fans and boxing media are, we are so quick to write people off that we actually force them to cherry pick in order to not ruin their careers. If they become an unattractive sell due to a few losses, then we as fans actually lose out on potentially exciting match ups too. So some lower level cherry picking actually results in better fights overall, as long as the biggest and best challenges aren't included in that cherry picking (then the fans lose out).

For example, the build up for a Fury v Haye fight would be great, and the fight would likely be a very tense affair with so much at stake. So if Fury has the choice of two opponents, and beating either of them is very likely to place him in a position to challenge Haye, then on the balance of things (most enjoyment from most boxing matches) it may be the case that Fury taking the slightly safer option for the first fight will actually be better for the fans over the course of the two fights.
