Nerves

    When I first started boxing I was nervous as hell. I'd walk around waiting to fight scowling at everyone and anyone.

    Now since I've fought more, I'm far more relaxed and people actually say to me 'Are you not feeling nervous?'

    I am but I'm just relaxed with it.

    Just finished training tonight and i asked ian weaver the same question... he said " you cant get rid of them! the first fight you dont always get them as you dont know what to expect but fight 2,3 or 4 is when they start happening and even i get nerves" but has had over 100 fights and fights for the gb team. hope this helps

    Curiously enough, ages ago, when I once told a gym mate about the issue 'nerves before a fight' he told me masturbation'd do wonders
    I think this kind of relaxation technique points right in the opposite direction to the mood u're trying to build before a fight - I was puzzled then and didn't find the words to answer to his insane suggestion
