Networks break even when fights sell over 300,000 PPVs. 97K got Hershman fired at HBO

    That's not the case. What the break-even point is will be determined by how much the event actually costs in total.

    300k might be the break-even point of a Pac fight. It's definitely not the case with a $6m total purse card.

    On top of that, if a GGG PPV needs to sell 300k to make money, how can HBO ever afford to put any fights on that aren't PPV? Have all his fights lost money?

    Check out Mark Taffet's (then HBO Exec) comments about the PPV buys.The 97 K came from blogger Rick Glaser's estimate who had NOTHING to do with the event.:deal

    Hershman helped train his replacement. Do they do that when people are fired? Let the fired person train his replacement?:huh I also thought the guy who was replacing him was the vice President of HBO boxing? So if Hershman was such a huge fugg up then why leave him to do all this? Doesn't make sense.
