That was a brutal and very sad way to end an illustrious and legendary career. Can't believe that his career has ended this way. That has to be the stoppage of the year, surely? There's no coming back from that.
Totally agree. Never been a fan, cant be many of his fights where i actually wanted him to win but i didnt want him to go out like that. His incredible career, and it really has been incredible, would of been nice to end on a high. But Hopkins just never took easy fights, never doubted himself so had he of beaten Smith he would of gone out on a high. And to be fair the young gun 20 something made Hopkins look like a 40 year old in there last night, which is usually a critisizm but not when your 51.

I agree. Tried the old hurt my ankle falling out of the ring trick again, even though his feet were straight up in the air. And the delusional interview afterward was classic. I'm from Philly and I just never liked this guy. Went out with no class which is a perfect ending for him. Goodbye
