JMM was still fighting at Featherweight when he was 33. Now he's moved up 4 divisions to face the #1 or #2 P4P fighter in the world. No fighter in the history of boxing has ever moved up 4 divisions after age 33 to defeat an elite fighter. Only a few truly great fighters have been able to move up several weight divisions before they hit their limit. But they all started moving up much earlier in their careers than JMM. Gradually growing into the weight and ad******g to taller, stronger opponents while still having peak stamina and reflexes to compensate. When you put it into historical perspective, you can see how much of a mismatch this truly is.
there is absolutely no chance in hell that PBF is the no1 or no2 fighter in the world. Pac is clearly the best fighter in the world, better than PBf ever was. And JMM is the no2 fighter in the world. If this fight was at 140 or under JMM would possibly be the favorite.
Pac is not better than Floyd was before, yes he is more exciting and charismatic. But Floyd's skill and ring generalship are sublime, also he has never lost (though I scored Castillo-PBF for JLC).
If you say so. Where do you rank PBF then? At least top ten I hope? Because you can change my post to top 10 p4p and my point is still made. Maybe someone can give me an example from history that proves me wrong? I don't know of any, but there's always something to learn about boxing.
The only reason JMM would be the favorite 140 and under is because Mayweather would come into that fight more weight drained than DLH was vs. Pac.
I think Floyd is a vastly superior fighter to any version of Manny Pacquiao, but you can't put Floyd ahead of him because he hasn't done anything - whereas little Pac has been demolishing foes. It doesn't mean Manny is a better fighter than Floyd, that would simply be your opinion and holds no real weight. Floyd is just a better fighter than Marquez.
