thanks for the post blackwater :)
You raise valid points allround. Some things you misunderstood how I meant them, but this is probably more my fault than yours! Like with the band, I said specifically, if you have access to weights you can do something better. If you want to just get stronger, you can do other things. He makes money, no problem with that, but people should have this in mind. And he DOES get worship on the internet, which as I said I don't like anyone being looked up to more than someone in real life, just because they are on YouTube, I stand by that. this isn't exclusive to Ross though.
As I've underlined quite a few times in this thread, I am not dissing his methods or the books or the type of training, they are good quality.
I never said it was for optimal strength development, either! or that his book was for powerlifting. or that he himself is weak.

I think he has deadlifted at some point in the past. And for someone in their 30s, who has trained for a sport to a high level for most of their life, is 80-85kg, 500lbs isn't a groundbreaking deadlift, but amongst endurance athletes, its pretty good!
But I don't remember why that was even brought up? I certainly didn't discredit his OWN strength.

I think at the time He had only ever done the deadlift a handful of times.

I don't think being on youtube has anything to do with why he is liked.

He is an experienced strength and conditioning coach who knows his stuff and goes out of his way to help a lot of people for free. I don't know many people who are like that.

You also mention people should have it in mind that he makes money. His Never Gymless is £13 including shipping. He is selling them very cheap. I think you over estimate how much he makes from the books and DVDs.
