you know something, im so curious when *******s bring race into the issue concerning pac/may. you say we would be pacquiao's fans if he were black correct?? well my obviously narrow minded, biased, generalizing, special needs friend, thats where double standards comes into play. would you be a fan of pac if he were black or latino?? would you still place him on this pedastel of immortality, perfection, and all around godliness if he were of african/latin descent?? by saying such things benjamin you lead others to think that you are a racist yourself.

the individuals you encounter here on ESB don't reflect on the boxing community and society in general. so the fact that you're under the impression that there isn't a single non-black mayweather fan not only exposes how much of an idiot you are, but it also exposes the fact that you have no pereception of reality AT ALL. sheltering yourself amongst your peers day in and day out , making countless hate threads on public internet forums about a man you've never even met, all the while worshipping someone in obsessive fashion is enough to distort anyone's perspective of society. so as a suggestion go out and get some fresh air, actually develop a social life, get a job, get a girlfriend, and keep an open mind. maybe then you'll see the world functions in a manner that differs from that of the virtual world you expose yourself too on a daily basis.

Very good summations up to a certain point. For one, his claim to fame in the Boxing Hall of Fame is the only boxer to have won "8 titles in 8 different weight divisions." To say that it doesn't matter is simply ignoring the fallacies.

Take it a step further. He's only a 6-weight class champion...

    * don't forget about how Arum strongarmed this man into another catchweight bout...

educate us on how Martinez got the belt at 154, which as you said is "the true champ in that division".

Cotto was ranked by the Ring in the WW division and he was a champion. Kinda like your argument on how the SM-PW fight is "different" from Manny's catchweight fight against Margo.

Pac successfully defended his title at 147.

Well, the exchange of ideas is what a forum's purpose is. I'd like to know. Keep in mind in how that justifies Pac's "8th title"...

Very true, which is why I didn't boycott that bout. However, if you've read my posts in this thread, I still have a problem with catchweight title bouts. But then again, who was the real champ at 147 in that particular time. Sugar...who??? And if he was willing to defend it at 147, why did he not try to win it at that weight limit? Hmmm...looks like an unfair advantage against a guy who WAS FAR MORE BETTER THAN THE GUY THAT PAC DEFENDED THE 147 LB BELT AGAINST.

Pacquiao was trying to test the waters against a legit WW. Cotto agreed, why keep bitching? He fought Oscar at 147 because that was the lowest weight Oscar could go. Stop acting like Pac is the only one that fights at catchweights. Besides, that was his first ever fight at catchweight. If Pac and Cotto were to have a rematch for that WBO title, it would've been at 147.
