Supposedly he's fighting another bum in las Vegas on the Canelo-Cotto undercard. After the Super Six he was on the cusp of greatness and being the best p4p fighter in the world but how times have changed. 19 months of inactivity followed by fighting bums. He wasting his prime and ruined his momentum unlike anyone I've ever seen.

He's still got time to turn it around but he needs to quit wasting his time calling out fighters like GGG that are unlikely to fight him and go after guys like Stevenson and Kovelev. Guys who he has a good chance of actually fighting

Ward seemed like a guy who cared about his legacy, but then Super Six ends and we see nothing (I understand taking time to heal his broken hand) meaningful of him anymore. I always thought his issues with Goosen were a distraction for some other problem, I mean why sue each other, when you can stage a fight and both make some good money. I'm afraid things will be only getting worse, as GB/TR/Haymon weren't around north of 154 a few years ago, now it's different.
Looking at his recent resume, he's either the most avoided/cherry-picking/unlucky/indifferent fighter on the planet. There are good fights to be taken @ 168, great @ 175 and the Golovkin showdown, probably at 168 too, but IIRC he was only 176 against Dawson. I hope he does something meaningful in the next 12 months.

He needs to get some meaningful fights under his belt again. He's become nigh on irrelevant.

It's the sacrifice of legacy to money.

Not many active boxers can boast top 3 in a division of all time :hi:

Not many fighters fight in such an historicaly rich division as SMW either.

True, but he was on a trajectory to better things than become a top 3 in a division with little or no historical weight.

I think Ward schools GGG, but Ward has no problem fighting a completely drained Dawson but won't go down to fight GGG. Goes both ways.

Ward's career is about to hit it's second phase - unifying 175lb division during an era full of monsters. Thereafter, beating some fools at cruiserweight.

Ward has many years left at the pinnacle of the sport, probably another 7+ years.
He's an ATG soon to be.
