Never seen Howard Davis vs Mel Taylor

    I know it ended in a draw, but who really won? And was it a good fight? I know both guys were lightning fast.

    I saw it, and I thought it was a legit draw.Davis did some strong defensive work, but Taylor did score some.

    It was '86 or so... I have a copy----somewhere......... Howie Davis was 30ish and Mel Taylor was 19 or 20...... Davis still had speed and savy, while Taylor was young and full of energy.... The draw was fair..... The fight was tactical...... No real thrills or frills, etc.....

    I had Taylor by a point but it could have gone either way. Lot's of close rounds.

    It might be on youtube.?.? I haven't see the fight in years..... I'd need to find my tape from the 80s....

    The fight was scored right, Davis' experience saw him through Taylor's lack of technical skill at the time.
