I've been watching boxing 10 years maybe a bit longer. I wouldn't say it is any better than it was with Margarito, Cotto, Mayweather, Mosley, Clottey, Hatton, Witter, Bradley, Torres etc.
yeah, dull fighters and schit....not like excitement of a wlad klitshko fight ...or another scintillating lomachenko snorefest. if you think they're boring why are you glued to the tv when they come on? you wanna talk schit about them while you enjoy their spectacular performances on the down low, huh?
the thing is, back then, those guys weren't seen as the legends they are today. now, looking back it seems more loaded than it did at the time. besides, they were all at vastly different stages of their careers for example, when berto and shane were both in the top 10 at ww. The guys i'm talking about are MOSTLY YOUNG guys, mostly around the same age, all coming up. 140-147 is STAR STUDDED. there's more talent in both divisions at this point than there's ever been. part of the problem is, these are mostly american fighters, but boxing just isn't that popular in the states anymore. if it was, we'd be surpassing the excitement of the 80s (hagler, hearns, srl, duran, benitez) by far...foreign fans simply aren't gonna appreciate the depth of talent as much as americans.
