Jealousy will eat away at you, let it go.

Embrace the Hearn era, it's here to stay.

Matchroom getting their fighter a world title shot is groundbreaking stuff. I really can't believe other promoters have never done this.

I just seems Matchroom are the savoiur of British boxing because they allow there fighters to go to the states with the cards stacked against for title shots and not to many win
just of the top of my not related to matchroom we have had
Locket(spelling), Jennings, Eastman, Woods, Barker, Murray, Williams, Reid, Rhodes(might have mexico),hatton, Witter

It's not just how he's handling more established pros it's how he's bringing through emerging talent.

Look at Frampton and the path he's on.

    Ochieng is being matched well.

Kal Yafai is being brought through at speed.

Ryder was put in with O'Kane.

It's stuff like showing class and offering refunds when the card isn't as advertised.

To put it simply, it's new age promoting.

come on DF. Your disagreeing for the sake of it again. Barker vs Lockett who would win? And Rees is lightyears ahead of Jennings.

Yeah, there's no comparison between Lockett/Jennings and Barker/Rees. There is a big difference in quality between those two pairs.

Not really, Rob. And Lockett was pretty decent, easily could have given Barker a good fight. Who has Barker beaten to deserve such esteem? He got trashed by the one world level opponent he's faced.

Don't assume I'm disagreeing just for the sake of it. Rees isn't that much better than Jennings. Beat a poor title holder for his belt, lost nearly every round en route to a painful stoppage against Kotelnik.

    So so pedigree, its questionable.

I thnk the main difference is Frank appeared to cash in with those mismatches but with Eddie you feel he'll help his fighters to come again.

I think Hearns is also using these big fights as an opportunity to mingle with the bigger promoters as they seem to be recognising him in interviews. I think most recently Schaefer started mentioning him.

Barker did well in the Martinez fight. No shame in getting beat by someone who's probably in a lot of people's p4p top 5.

    you have completely discounted everything else Rees has done in his career there. and Barker hardly got trashed. Do I really need to post videos of these fights;

    Locket vs Pavlik
    Jennings vs Cotto
    Barker vs Martinez

All 3 champions would be considered around the same level at the time of the fight, and Barkers performance was 100x better than what Lockett & Jennings put forward.

It seems universal on here that Barker & Ress are rated higher than Jennings & Lockett.

i agree lockett was under rated but based on there records going onto world title fights, Barker was a level above.

well they have made 2 big fights in the past month. can only be a good thing if they have a strong working relationship.
