Dont mean to be a party pooper but having the scores up before the final round is kind of important I think.

We could have 4 or 5 guys in front and it adds to the byplay of the last round to know who's who on the ladder....even for the middle of the pack and the spoon I think its better we know the scores :hey

I know the scores take time and I may have an idea or 2 for next comp to make it easy.

But for now my vote is lets hold off until scores come in :deal

 

Whats your idea? The currently system is already quite good.

Its not the calculating of the scores that takes time - this process is already automated. Its actually entering everyones tips into the system, and also researching the exact results of the fights. Thats why myself and Porks have already mentioned many times that its a great help if someone could just research and post the scores. As for improving it, do u have a way for everyone to enter their tips automatically? Im not gonna spend that amount of time to write a web app for it...

 

Mate not having a whinge or anything but the scores should be up mid week each week to keep interest in the comp and to get new people involved.

I know it's takes time so its a big call to get it done each week however I'm only talking about whats best for the comp...not the guys like you and P'chop that give their time to do the scores.

I'm going to have a think about my ideas over the weekend and I will get back to you :good

Ash, consider this a freak round. I've been between jobs, touring with work (done a few music fests yay! but takes a lot of time) and have been between laptops. The laptop I normally use for this had the power cable melt and being a mac (and not mine) it's $100 to replace the power supply.

Typically I would do the scores at least every second week.

My suggestion is we find a free server to upload the scores too after they are done each week with the round it's upto in the file name. If someone has the chance to do the scores that week, post here saying it's downloaded and being updated. If nobody has claimed it by Thursday, me or Hmmm can maybe take responsibility for it?

Edit: Or someone one PM the last person to update to get the scores off them.
