Can someone tell me who are some young African American fighters coming up to keep an eye for? I don't agree with Mayweather at all but it got me thinking of who was coming up and I couldn't think of any young black boxers that weren't latino. Then again I usually follow the lower weights and don't know much about the higher weights.

Anthony Peterson is garbage and so is Kirkland who has 0 boxing ability ... I think both guys are KO's waiting to happen ... I actually think Lamont is too even though he has more pop than his brother.

Devon Alexander is another guy on his way up but i'm not sure he's going to fair well either ... I shouldn't be so hard on those guys because they all are game fighters and so early on in their careers but I don't see anything special out of those guys.

Anthony Peterson was on versus and was dominating a guy but starting to get boring because he didn't have enough pop to finish the guy and he kept yellin after every punch which made it even more boring.

Andre Dirrell but I have a feeling that HBO is going to stray away from him because of his style.

Andre Ward might be okay but i'm going to go with Dirrell ... based on physicality --

    andre dirrell is my pick

if he has a chin this supermiddleweight will go far.

only 2 flaws i can see holding him back

    1/unknown chin strength

    2/possible mental strength

    other than that
    big/tall/athletic/fast hands/good boxing fundamentals/decent power/

    lots of potential.

yes i know he ran from stevens , but thats a problem for the tv and fans liking him, abilty wise to beat opponents in front of him , he has a lot of tools in his locker.

**** me i spend 2 mins thinking about my pick and it looks like i copied the above posters

Dirrel has a crowd-pleasing style, why would HBO "stray away" from him?

If he keeps whooping ass, he'll get his chance, mark my words :good

No one ever mentions Danny Jacobs.

Classy kid, great skills, will go to the top.

    You'll see.

Garbage? That's not a fair assessment at all.

Lamont Peterson admits that he has less power than his brother and his record indicates this. He has 12 KO's in 25 fights to Anthony's 19 KO's in 27 fights.

I think that Stevens fight left a bad taste in the mouths of HBO match makers.

I got it backwards ... it doesn't matter anyway ... i'm not please watching them ... and in my post after that I said that it wasn't fair to say that because they have so much time to develop but I don't see them fair well on the elite level.
