Please see below new BBC P4P British rankings..... 1. Joe Calzaghe 2. Ricky Hatton 3. David Haye 4. Carl Froch 5. Nicky Cook 6. Junior Witter 7. Clinton Woods 8. Enzo Maccarinelli 9. Kevin Mitchell last but not least..... 10. John Murray - With Amir Khan so cruelly exposed by Breidis Prescott, could the British champion, and not the much-hyped Bolton fighter, be the man to make a splash on the world stage? :yep It seems a bit strong to put Cook at 5 above Witter and Woods on the basis of winning a world title, and also to drop Arthur out of the top 10. Your thoughts........ :hi:
What's Enzo doing in there?! Also, I agree that Witter and Woods should be above Cook. These guys won and defended genuine world titles while Cook won a WBo title from a guy who should not have had it in the first place. For me the top three are close (Haye, Calzaghe and Hatton) and 4-6 are close (Froch, Witter, Woods).
I think Witter is a bit low, probably based upon his surrender of the WBC title (that is the only word I can think of) though he destroyed Vivian Harris in his previous fight I have no idea what the plans are for Clinton Woods, I would like to see him return, it would be a shame for such a good honest fighter to retire on the back of a shocking performance having looked great in the previous 3/4 fights I think Mitchell and Murray are good editions, though Colin Lynes is probably a better bet than either, having been only a dodgy SD away from a potential world title shot. Ryan Rhodes can't be far off, and nor can Jamie Moore
Thats how I look at it. JC is number one and I favour Hatton over Haye for number two but I can see that its debatable.
They look fairly OK to me. Nicky cook should be below Witter, and Woods though imo. Fighting out a place with Enzo mac perhaps. Personally I see 1, 2, and 3 as fine. Joe at the moment has done enough to be top. I can't see what Haye has done that Hatton has not - and Hatton has done a bit extra. Therefore for the moment I think it should be Hatton 2, and Haye 3. All in all not the worst of lists though, imo.
personally i think they should be, 1) Calzaghe 2) Haye 3) Hatton 4) Froch 5) Witter 6) Cook 7) Macceranelli 8) Arthur 9) Munroe 10) Mitchell
Is that REALLY a massive problem? At present they have both proved themselves to be the best in poor divisions, Hattons just been there longer.
Nah just a small problem really. Hatton should be below Haye though, just until Haye gets KTFO in November.
