I have heard off beat rumours of Cus and his lifestyle. This book may bring a few of these rumours to life.
:good Looks like it might turn out to be a decent book. I'm getting sick of people claiming D'amato was some white knight on some moral crusade against the IBC monopoly and the mob in the 1950s, when it's not hard to see that he wanted a fairly ruthless monopoly of his own, and was almost certainly backed up by some mobbed-up associates of his own. He was certainly eccentric and lived much of his life in secrecy, but I don't revel too much in finding out about "rumours" that may have surrounded his private life. I'm more interested in the boxing business.
The author is also learning how to box under Kevin Rooney and is writing a technical manuel on the D'mato method of boxing. This sounds great, always wanted to learn about the peek-a-boo style.
Heard that rumour more than once about camp Cus....like to think it's not true but if it is then it certainly explains a lot.
