Melbourne boxing historian, Mr Arnold Thomas (founding member of ANBHoF) has released his second book. This book covers the monuments and resting places dedicated to those former champions now passed and resting in gods neutral corner. Specifics relative to 99 fighters is highlighted, as a follow up to one of the finest Australian boxing books printed "Hero's of the Fancy", in the second of Mr Thomas' efforts. I'm yet to see a print of the new book, although I strongly recommend 'Heros' of the Fancy' to anyone with historical interest, just as I'm sure the new release will satisfy interests. Auther signed (to whoever) copies are available to all via PM to myself. No, I don't add any costs!!
Different and interesting volume by the sounds of things. Wonder why Arnold stopped at 99? Is there a price reduction for copies of the book with your signature alongside Arnolds?
I have just finished reading "Where Warriors Rest" and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a collection of stories on the lives of boxers (and a couple of promoters) from various countries and from different eras. Well illustrated with photos of each person and their final resting place. I would recommend it to everybody as a must for your boxing library. In a couple of the photos there is a Tony Hood at the graveside. Is that the same Tony Hood who writes the great stories on the old fighters for "Fist"?
Definately two different Tony's. One is extremely handsome.. the other is extremely talented, handsome, gifted and humble. David or Brett??
Speaking of the Hof above, he looks like he needs a trip to the Barbers - but that's a pretty expensive ticket these days.
