The nicest records matter on boxrec. Not who has beaten who.

In their last 4 fights, Vitali's opponent has had more points than Wlad's, if you go down the list. Adamek > Haye; Solis > Thompson; Arreola > Wach; Chisora > Mormeck.

But then how far do you go with bad decisions and who decides what is and what isn't a bad decision? Obviously I have my opinion on which fights were robberies but as soon as they get involved with stuff like that people will say well why is this fight a robbery and this one isn't.

Like Divac says, at least we know.

Boxrec has it's flaws but at least we can understand why fighters are ranked where they are rather than rankings like the Ring who clearly favour Golden Boy fighters.

The only rankings you're ever going to be happy with are your own, Boxrec is just a rough guide to go off based on a formula rather than an opinion.

I would rather watch Mayweather slap around Pac but Bob will never let it happen, too much blood left to drain. Guerrero would annihilate Pacquiao and in the real world is a better opponent at this time so its hard to argue that he is not at least a low level option.

Wonder if Rocky Charrs 1st rd annihilation of Arrich and Adameks narrow win:)rofl)had anything to do with the new rankings?:think

If so, then if Wach comes back and beats another top 100, and Mormeck eeks out another SD hometown decision, Wlad will once again leapfrog Vitali.

Hell, boxrec even has Vitali at #4 p4p.

Huge Vitali fan, but based off resume and activity, and LOC, Wlad is head and shoulders above him.

Only way I could rate Vitali higher is if he'd never retired and had 3 of the following on his resume....Toney, Holyfield(04-06), Valuev, Ruiz or Byrd.:think

Dirrelevant has been dirrelevant since the s6.

We're talking about the complete reversal of Wlad and Vitali, and how, even using their formula, it doesn't seem legit.

I think zcbym made a valid point.

IMO, it's either a screwup, an agenda, or Suleiman got to them.

    Just look @#1 LMW.

    Don't remember Canelo being #1 previously.:huh

the time period is 1.5 years. Boxrec requires that fighters fight someone at least 50% of their rating every 1.5 years or said fighter's rating will be cut in half. Boxrec does this so that future fighter's ratings won't get grossly inflated (ie if someone beat a super old SRL who came out of retirement, they'd get most of his points, but really it was because he deteriorated from inactivity)

It has been 1.5 years since wlad fought haye, so his ranking goes down by 50% if he hasn't fought anyone, or 50% of his current rating minus the highest rating of an opponent since he fought haye which would be thompson.

    originally 1365, 1365/2 = 682.5, 682.5-425= 257.5. So his rating went down by 257.5, which matches on boxrec (258 ).

    You have been enlightened.
