Fedor is an M1 employee, he works for M1, he also has a percentage ownership of the promotion. Obviously as the co-promoter M1 would get the bulk of the money.

M1 guaranteed Fedor $3.5 million per bout, a small fraction came directly from Affliction, big deal afterall Fedor WAS NEVER an Affliction fighter.

Tell me if Fedor was being ripped off then why is he staying with M1? Why did Gegard want to get the same deal as Fedor? why didnt Fedor get discarded by M1 after two straight losses (like many Zuffa fighters from UFC)? why is M1 fighting the current court case now that affected Fedor and M1? and finally which other fighter has a sporting complex and also has a large ownership of a promotion?

The feeling here seems to be that there will be no need for a second print run of Lesnar's book.

 

Theres a video of Vadim explaining why that is on youtube. Its basically how Pride welcomed and sought out other fighters while UFC in particular is very American audience focused.

Pride's feeding ground was basically the top fighters from other promotions whereas Zuffa's feeding ground is becoming more and more its TUF (where fighters are already exposed to American audiences).

Pride even sought out UFC champions to fight its champion (Dana lost a lot of money in a bet with the Pride boss but never paid up ). UFC has put clauses in place in their contract where current champions CAN NEVER fight outside the UFC i.e. Randy Couture v Fedor.

WAMMA would have facilitated better fighter exchange, sadly it was not to be. The main stumbling block was Zuffa. M1-Global and the other promotions were keen for this to happen and all sign up to it. Fedor has stated that he doesnt care much for belts, EXCEPT FOR ONE, his WAMMA belt. For Fedor and Vadim this belt is precious because of what it tried to do. Currently only Fedor Emelianenko and Shinya Aoki hold a WAMMA belt.

M1 have tried very hard to get its fighters in American TV's this was why they co-promoted and why part of the contract had a clause where half of the fighters come from M1 fight and the other half from Strikeforce (in the prelims). This didnt eventuate because Strikeforce reneged on the first event (the filled it with SF fighters) and on the second event M1 had visa difficulties (because of a recent visa application changes).

M1 is still pushing for this though with or without Strikeforce, when they struck a deal with Showtime.

As for fights in Japan, well M1 did explore this but it didnt take off. Japan is still having difficulties of its own and arent really keen on doing anything else apart from keeping its head above water.

M1 though have sought out Asian fighters of its own to fight its Eastern European, Western European and American fighters. They do hold Selection events in Korea with Korean and Japanese fighters.

No Stoo, its you who have to back up your idiotic claim. Ive provided you with other examples of 1) Zuffa's money grabbing exercise where anyone that uses UFC, Ultimate fighting, their fighters likeness, and even the fighting moves themselves are being sued by Zuffa (irrespective of them being done independent of the UFC)

Ive also shown that your A-Team example is a bunch of garbage since the A-Team NEVER once used any terms licensed by Zuffa. They didnt have anywhere in the film that splashed x and y actor as fighting for the UFC or show and of their UFC scenes.

Ive also shown you the greedy and mafia like behaviors of Zuffa that is currently being investigated and holding MMA back in some states in America.

All you provided is "the book is independent", as if thats any barrier to an infringement lawsuit.

-Flexible contract (Not especially with the championships clause, likeness clause)
-Fighter free with sponsorship? (Not, sponsors need to be approved by Zuffa and pay Zuffa a fee)

So again STOO, name me another fighter with a 8.5% ownership of a major global MMA promotion and name me another with a sporting complex. The guy also has a lifetime contract, win, loss draw or retired. No other fighter has this type of security.
