http://blog.chron.com/celebritybuzz/2011/05/rare-charlie-chaplin-film-on-sale/ Just like stories like this because it seems like there is more chance of a Greb film showing up or even other rare boxing films from that period. Remrmber chaplin and Greb werr all from the 20s. If Nitrate stock of Chaplin's can last, why can't footage of Greb-Walker?
i would think footage of Harry Greb vs Mickey Walker and many other fights was had by Jim Jacobs & Bill Cayton in their Big Fights Inc Fight Film Archives. Cayton sold the collection of over 22,000 fights to Walt Disney Productions for around $180 million .. no way could that collection be worth anywhere near as much as it sold for other than it containing lots of very rare never seen before fight-film footage of fighters like Greb, Dempsey, Ketchell, Walker, Langford, Fitzsimmons and many more. ESPN always show the same fights over and over again and will never show the fights of Greb vs Walker etc as they have to protect their investment :good
Keep dreaming. So many people think ESPN have a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. They have some gems people havent seen but not as many as people think and nothing on Greb outside of the training footage of which they only own a copy, not the rights or the original.
i know jacobs and cayton were on the hunt for any greb footage so i don't think disney would have it but i would like to see what they're not showing for sure.
