hes working on his legs, foot work, speed, lateral movement. says beach is good for that. he says he wants miguel to have speed for this fight with mayweather's masterful defense

I do not doubt Cotto's trainer has a good idea of how to deal with Floyd, It's just that I don't think Miguel has the tools to follow the fight plan for 12 rounds.

yes, hes had that problem in the past. if he could continue to have good stamina, he could have a chance to make it at least thru 12

    Thanks for posting.

Yeah, he talked about how the sand was demanding, and so it helped with leg strength, speed, stamina, etc. The reporter noted that he was showing Miguel how to throw combinations downstairs while moving to the side, and Diaz responded with "Of course, everyone has their characteristics, Mayweather has his characteristics, and with speed and movement, we're going to break his defense." The reporter also asked about how he has him working moving backwards, which may seem counterintuitive against a counter-puncher like Floyd, and he responded saying that the best way to deal with a counterpuncher is to be multi-dimensional; to know how to counter-punch, to know how to get inside, to know how to circle, and to be multilateral, and that Miguel is a multilateral boxer and they're going to use that.

i dont know if hes been watching floyds fights lately. he is the aggressor. they wanna implement the same shite they did against margarito. only difference is margarito aint as fast as floyd. if i was them i would be the aggressor. floyd dont like pressure. when victor pressured him he ran backwards looking for cover and stopped punching.

They have to pressure Floyd, but at the same time, Floyd is so great in the pocket, and they have to be prepared to back up if Floyd presses with his sharp, faster punches. When has anyone ever made someone effectively reach and counter Floyd? He expects to be bum-rushed. Educated pressure is great, but catching Floyd as he comes forward by turning him is an avenue they should explore, especially if Floyd expects them to back up harmlessly like Ortiz did.
