Just watched the latest Cuban Heavyweight - Mike Perez live on RTE.

22 year old now fighting out of Ireland.

    Very impressed...

Very Fast Hands (unusual for a Heavyweight these days!!)

    Southpaw

    Good Power

In Shape (Unlike many Cuban Heavyweights (Solis!!! lol)

He won every round against a Polish Journeyman tonite, putting the Pole on the canvas 3 times.

I know he was only fighting a "bum" but its only his 3rd fight, with another couple of fights lined up over the next month.

Im not saying hes the next Mike Tyson - but a good exciting fighter!

    Info at Boxrec...

I will try and upload the video ASAP

Thanks! I guess he was a national champion in Cuba?
If that's the case than he's damn good:yep because if you're a champion of cuba you can fight all over the world (amateur, but pro as well) Let's see if he makes it trough the pro ranks

I don't see how you could have been impressed with that performance. He was very lethargic and sloppy tonight.Maybe he was just ****ing around with the guy to get a few rounds in but i wasn't impressed.
He does have very fast hands and he is in good shape

Same here. He didn't look in any better shape than Solis (worse I thought), and he was sluggish and sloppy and ran out of gas against an opponent with a 1-5 pro record. Color me unimpressed.

I actually think that he looked quite good against the pole. Not a fantastic performance by any means, but he easily outpointed him. I remember that the german based nigerian Gbenga Oloukun struggled alot against the pole (winning a sd/md), so in that comparison Perez looked rather good.

Here you can find a couple of rounds from the fight
