This just been announced, Adrian «The Shark» Diaconu will be part of the Interbox Team for the next two years. He was without a promoter in the last year or so, a situation that caused him to cope with long periods in between fights. For local fans, it's a very good news. Even if the last year was tough one to go by for Diaconu, today's announcement present the near futur has a positive step to better things.

Enough with the Branco sitiation, let's hope the WBC makes Johnson as the mandatory to his uproven belt and move on. There are good match-ups to be made and good boxing ahead of Diaconu.

Yeah,I read in the romanian press he signed for 2 years too.
Good news for him, hopefully he looks good saturday and gets a fight with Glen Johnson.Branco doesn't deserve his mandatory position.

Good. I'd like to see him in meaningful fights before it's too late. The Branco fight is a joke.

They are talking about him making an optional title defense this summer.

I think Yusaf Mack could make a good opponent for that fight.

Good. Does this mean he'll stop fighting 8 rounders on undercards?

EDIT: It's a serious question; inquiring minds want to know.

The only reason he's fighting an 8 round on the undercard is because his title fight was canceled. It was either that or no fight at all.

There was no money to add another 12 round title fight on the undercard on a week notice.

So he couldn't round up Darnell Boone or some other journeyman who was willing to at least go 10?

Whittom is just as good and durable as all those american journeymen.

May as well give work to a local guy.
