Of course, but the overwhelming opposition consensus in favor of Earnie is compelling, and now the man himself is quoted as saying he hit Holmes the hardest of all his targets. When pressed, it seems Foreman rates Lyle over Morrison, Cooney, Briggs, Stewart, Frazier and the others he took punches from. Tommy's chin has been a subject of some debate. Although Ruddock dropped him, he wasn't able to get Morrison out of there. I'd be inclined to defer to common opponents of Ruddock and Lewis, like Tyson. Among the names you mentioned, I'm inclined to accept Tua as the most serious challenger to Earnie's supremacy in punching prowess.
It's very possible. Shavers said he was scared to god when he saw him stand up. At the count of 9, Larry stood up with a very loud "GRUNT". Now THAT is scary! lol And thank you Benny
yes, but that opposition never got an uppercut or straight right from Lennox Lewis, or a left from Morrison or Tua or The Smash from Ruddock. I humbly submit that those punchers hit near as hard as Shavers. And per Foreman's comments on Lyle... well apparently Foreman was feeling a bit vulnerable against Lyle because the record just does not play out. Granted, Lyle could hit. But he was not an elite puncher.
Not much, just that Louis said he couldn't believe it when Paulino got up and wanted to continue. I wish footage of that knockdown would surface, but I suppose we should be grateful that our good friend, The Great A, has provided us with even eight minutes of this event.
Well, what I meant was Paulino stopped via TKO in the middle of the barrage, was the fight waved off by the ref when he was still wanting to continue...?
So few seem to mention that left hook of his. IMO as good as any; he never seemed to call upon it as much... Note: Hey RUSSELL, is that Briscoe/CM 1? 2? Did Bennie just nail him there? Any info?
Yes, Briscoe nailed him and has Monzon reeling backwards. I'm almost positive its from their second fight. Here's a higher res version for you. This content is protected
I remember seeing the ad for it in the back pages of either some Ring Magazine or KO addition, about 20 years ago. Never purchased it or saw it though..
