Harold Lederman, as grizzled a ringside vet as we have, referred to it in the 10th round of the HBO broadcast as, “the worst fight I’ve ever seen.” Lou DiBella provided more evidence for being the most likeable promoter in boxing today in the Dan Rafael quote above. Christening a fight the “worst ever” is practically impossible, but Dirrell-Stevens doubtless makes the short list of every hardcore boxing fan who ever saw it. The only redeeming aspect of the fight is its infamy as an awful spectacle.

Shortly after the 3 minute mark in this clip of the worst fight ever, you can hear Dirrell say amidst booing 'I got paid like a mother****er so I don't care'.
I hope he never boxes again.

 

Never liked Dirrell. Anyone who seriously believes he got brain damage from that shot needs their own head examining. If by some miniscule chance the punch did do serious damage to Dirrell he has my heartfelt sympathy but is obviously way too fragile to be a professional boxer.

 

i THINK he is being a coward but i dont KNOW. all i know is he fought scared vs froch and faked it versus abrahams. the ward fight then took way too long to get done. by the sounds of it, his camp want money but not real fights. hard to say. especially when he is fronted by a complete **** like gary shaw.

 

its never nice to question an injury especially a one a serious as this,but it does just stink. Id like to think if it was proved fake there would be some punishment.

It makes you think about all the drama after the abraham 'knockdown' if he was playing on it a little?

Quality boxer but problems with the mental side of things.

What does Dirrell mumble right before Sr. states they want lawyers present? Sounds as if he makes a reference to the fact they are asking about doctors but I can't quite make it out. Anyone?

 

Dirrell is a coward. If he had a brain issue there would be no chance whatsoever of fighting ever again. Dirrell is needlessly giving boxing a bad name.
