    ESPN updated their pound-for-pound list last night:
    http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/20775716/pound-pound-rankings-andre-ward-retires-new-no-1

    Their top 3 is the same as my own top trio in a post I wrote yesterday in another thread on this subject:
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/whos-the-new-p4p-1.594255/page-2#post-18782023

    There are currently 9 ESPN voters. The most total points a fighter can get in the poll is 90 (10 points for each first-place vote).

    #1 ----> GGG ------------> 83 points ----> 6 first-place votes
    #2 ----> Lomachenko ---> 78 points ----> 3 first-place votes
    #3 ----> Crawford -------> 74 points ----> 0 first-place votes
    #4 -----> Canelo ---------> 60 points ----> 0 first-place votes
    #5 -----> Thurman -------> 36 points
    #6 -----> Spence
    #7 -----> Rigo
    #8 -----> Garcia
    #9 -----> Kovalev
    #0 -----> Inoue

    GGG went from not being in Teddy Atlas' Top 10 P4P to #5 on his list. Canelo fell from #6 on Atlas' list to #7. Atlas scored their bout 118-110 for GGG.

    Around 80% or so of Media/Fighters/Trainers/Boxing Officials scored the GGG-Canelo 1 bout for GGG. You can see a long list of those people here:

    Loma is my favourite fighter but I can't in all objectivity have him over Bud right now. Think Thurman and Spence are a tad high too. Rest looks pretty standard.

    Well done Teddy. Bout time you appreciated a true sporting legend of the sport instead of dismissing him.

    spence and inoue on this list over someone like usyk is a joke... even AJ deserves to be in the list more then spence and inoue... and spence as #6 is the biggest joke of all.

    My guess is that Lomachenko is regarded so highly because of his style/skills and kind-of "prodigy" aura.

    These three writers have Lomachenko as their #1:

    Teddy Atlas
    Eric Raskin
    Carlos Nava

    It's only a matter of time before Usyk gets his due. If he keeps winning, the accolades will soon follow. He's too good.

    It was ridiculous that Teddy did not have GGG in his Top 10 before the Canelo bout. Truly appalling.

    But, credit to Teddy, he had GGG winning big over Canelo in that fight. So whatever he thought about GGG before the fight, he didn't let it affect what he saw in the bout.

    I don't really pay attention to Teddy or watch ESPN. What was his reasoning for not having GGG on there?
    I worked out the numbers when I found out Teddy is like one of the judges who decides the P4P list. If you replaced Teddy with somebody else who put GGG as number 1 and Ward number 2 on their list they would have the same points.

    Who looks up ESPN? Only the Ring ratings matter.

    They need to do something to hype the rematch. This is not unexpected. The moral victor of the bout wins the popularity vote always. If G was known long enough, they would've thrown in FOTD as well.

    Teddy wrote a piece on it before:
    http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/18593385/why-left-gennady-golovkin-my-pound-pound-list

    I can't really get behind anything he says. There's no justifiable reason, to me, to have not had GGG on that list prior to the Canelo 1 fight. Even if you thought GGG was slipping (as Atlas says he felt may have been the case).

    You can't have an unbeaten fighter with 18 consecutive title defenses in the division off the list. That's not going to work. It won't pass the laughter test.

    To be fair to ESPN, as a whole, they had GGG at #1 before Ward-Kovalev 2, I think. So they had it right, even if Atlas was off on his own island prior to GGG-Canelo 1.
