Not much unfortunately. The midwest wasnt great about filming stuff and the 40s in general is a black hole for fight footage. Ive got some rare stuff on him but its all from the 50s. The best example of him is the Marshall fight and this Bivins fight. Beyond that its Lesnevich, Valentino, and Walcott 1 (the last two rds), some training footage. Thats it for the 40s that I know of off the top of my head.
Wow i didnt knew this fight was almost complete on footage will be interesting to watch, do you know if more pre 1950 footage of Ezzard Charles exist??

just saw your response in before. Is the Lesnevich footage that you talk about this?: This content is protected If its different, how did Charles looked there??? Also the Charles vs Marshall 2 footage is in good quality or its the same from the copy that is on youtube?? I ask because im a super fan of Ezzard Charles, i always liked the way he moved and punched and its interesting for me to analyze his movements and style.
Just a "highlight" video, but not impressive. There is nothing new/different in the good things that Charles did that are not done today. In addition Charles does things that most good contemporary boxers don't do, he throws wide punches, often leads with hooks and uppercuts, and in this particular fight he appears to have a tendency to keep his knees straight. Like most "legends" on video, he looks ordinary.
He was fighting a shot 34 yr old light heavyweight who had lost 2 of his last 3. Charles could afford to break some rules in performing a paintjob on Lesnevich while showcasing his wares in his first title defense. Anyone with eyeballs who has seen footage of Charles anywhere near his prime can see he was an elite boxer.
You forgot to add that Charles does some different set ups for his left hook in those highlights and seem to forget how the "old school" stance worked: This content is protected True to that, Charles against Louis, Marshall and Walcott (2nd-4th fight) looks a lot different than against Bivins, Walcott (1st fight), Oma and Valentino. He is one of the few fighters that can fight quite different fight to fight.
