How can you do better if you went first?

Oscar was dead at that weight. Floyd fought him when he still had something left @ 154(!).

In that case, Floyd can't beat JMM any better.

Oscar was dead since Hopkins. He was damn near retired after that fight.
Watch the Mayweather fight again. Floyd had the same exact openings as Pac and let himself get tagged against the ropes instead of using his feet .

2 fighters 2 strategies 2 different outcomes. Let's not forget Roach is the man who trained Oscar for Floyd which is why I believe he did as good as he did.
Roach is the best strategist in the game.

is simple. People want to compare floyd to everyone in similar opponents but Floyd went first on all those similar fights. So where is floyd's opportunity to out do his rivals if he went first?

is like if u take two equal athelic person to jump rope and say jump as many times in 1 min. The first guy would prolly go pretty fast and score a 140. The second guy fully aware the times to beat is 140 and push a little harder to beat the score. Is simple. Only dumbasses don't understand the advantage in second.

If Floyd beats JMM (especially if it's a clear win), will JMM's compatriots and fans say:

    A) JMM is old and shot from the wars with PAC, and Floyd was fighting his leftovers.

    or

    B) Floyd beat JMM better, Pac sucks he didn't even beat him.

They need to start thinking about that and choose one of them or in-between, to somehow not give credit to both Floyd and Pac.

floyd is multi dimensional and likes to fight off the ropes. Manny fights one way and that is aggression. Sometimes floyd's choice of style makes it more difficult but it will happen with a safety first fighter. The midget ring is not big enough to stay on his toes.... youtube that match and see how pathetic that ring is compare to a standard size one.

He had his chance when he was chasing Oscar against Gatti,Oscar did it faster and more impressive not to mention a few years earlier not 1 year, also against Hernandez Oscar did it better.

Floyds style is just not as impressive,he doesn't care about the ko if he gets it fine but he's not working for it,he would be just as content with a points victory.

thats what i'm saying. Who cares if fighter a does better than fighter b. Styles makes fights. Fighter's mentality makes the fight. Not to mention that is not easy being an undefeated fighter. There is a lot of pressure and most of them choose to play it safe. If floyd gets beat we will see him fight like he did when he was 130 . Nothing to lose.

Key word is better. And Floyd's victory over Gatti is much more impressive than Oscar's. Oscar was huge at 130 and 147 and he fought both generado and gatti at much more advantage. Floyd moved up so i wouldn't say oscar did it better.

So if floyd beat JMM better than Pac does that make him better or a sure bet to win? By what I'm seeing from some posters that what it sounds like.

I know it was a small ring, but Floyd is more than willing to go the distance.

I think Pac is alot more than a one way fighter and his aggression does come alive but lately its been more controlled aggression.

He is not the balls to the wall fighter of a few years back he knows how to use his feet and get the hell outta there when it gets too hot and thats what has impressed me lately ,he's also getting his inside holding down some to try and steer away from too much trading.

Before he would trade and whoever gets the best just got it. Now he gets in drops a combo and gets back out if he gest caught up more than he likes and can't get out he'll hold on.
