Just got back from my ban a couple days ago for the Booradley thread. What up? I always wanted Mayweather to get knocked out in every fight he's been in (except for the Hatton fight, I wanted Hatton to get knocked the **** out :yep). Last Saturday he proved he is and ATG fighter with truly amazing defense. A lot of people said Shane was shot and ****en bull**** like that. Thats ****en ridiculous Shane is still a very good fighter maybe not as good as early 2000's but none the less very good. The long layoff could have effected him, but who really knows. Lets not get into that again though. Mayweather put on a wonderful performance even though the fight was a bit boring. Also when Floyd admitted he was actually hurt by Shane's punch in the 2nd round, that was cool gained a lot of respect from me. I gotta say though my heart was racing from the 1st round until the 3rd and when Shane buckled Mayweather in the 2nd I was up on my feet throwing punches yelling everything I was so ****en excited that Mayweather was about to get knocked out. But it didn't come . Shane is my boy though and I feel bad for him, I know he can come back and get a couple more good wins before his great career is over. Great win Mayweather :good
Mayweather did his thing that night. He looked great and showed why he is considered great. This fight should leave very few doubts as far as the caliber of fighter May is. Mosley came out strong and then got mentally demolished when he really physically stood a chance. It was a great night for him.
floyd really fought very wisely. i was really amazed on how he fought mosley after round 2. never seen him that aggressive in a while.
Yes, I have to say I could have written this myself, except for the **** about Hatton. Good win Floyd. :bbb
I used to have the same feeling for Floyd. There was a time when I would've done anything to see him get KTFO. Then I started seeing things that his detractors would never pay attention to: -Amazing work ethic. The guy practices and works on his game like it's his last day on Earth -Provides community work/contributes to charities -Treats his fans really well -Always gives credit to his opponent after a match -Masterful defense. That shoulder roll is ugly as hell but nobody has really been able to break it down nor been able to use it as good as he can. -Unlike Floyd Sr, he has been excellent with his kids -Knows how to market himself effectively -Made easy work of a dangerous fighter in Shane Mosley. Don't give me any of that crap about how old Shane is. At 38 he was still top 10 P4P whereas DLH wasn't even ranked when he fought Pac! I also don't want to hear about the layoff. Floyd had only fought one guy in 2.5 yrs; compare to that Shane's 1.5 yr layoff and you'll see an even playing field. I can't say I'm a fan but those things mentioned along with dealing with his "haters" tend to sway me towards joining his fanbase. People genuinely hate Floyd. Little do they know it's exactly like hating (real hatred, not in a playful way) Denzel Washington for playing a role as a bad guy in a movie. It's asinine but people will try and justify it every which way they can.
Floyd looked good. But come on, Mosley did not have the stamina to compete with Floyd. He did not have the stamina to implement the strategy which would have required to throw a high amount of punches. The guy throw about 30 punches a round, mostly light jabs. Mosley did not get mentally destroyed, he was betrayed by his stamina.
Mosley was exhausted after only a few rounds. What in the world had Floyd to do with it? Mosley was gasping for air, how can he implement a gameplan which requires a high workrate? You guys are pathetic.:deal
Something was off about Mosley.. Whether it was Mosleys age, overtraining, or just simply Mayweather fighting an aggressive fight that offset Mosleys own offense. Probably a combination of both, but that doesn't mean anyone else would have been able to put on that kind of performance against Shane.
my 'newfound' respect for mayweather happened when he obliterated corrales way back. If you didnt see it then, you are sure as **** seeing it now.
It was his best victory in years. And honestly Shane was the best welter out there up until a few days ago. I look at it like this how much credit would Berto, Pac, Clottey or Collazo have gotten.
