mayweather - "he's mexicos numero uno..he's a great fighter etc" bla bla

why can't fool just answer the goddamn question!

Also by Floyd contantly biggin up Marquez shows that he knows Marquez just doesn't have enough to beat him. Therefore, by contantly praising him, he hopes to convince fight fans that Marquez is a real threat.

Could you imagine Floyd constantly praising Pacman in the build up if they fought? No chance lol. Infact, atm it's the total opposite.

 

I think you're only partially right. He's biggin up Marquez because the best way to sell this fight would be on the competitive nature of it. They're marketing it as the America's best vs. Mexico's best. It would make no sense to then turn around and trash Marquez as a fighter. Gatti stood no chance against Mayweather yet Mayweather called him "C" fighter. The reason was because the names are what sold that fight. The trash talk helped to gain people's interest.

 

I guess both factors could be valid. Also the fight being shown in theatres..again would you say it's because they are struggling with ticket sales thus being a sales booster or would you say it's generate as much income as possible?
