Guy(s) from Gorilla production deserves a big fat contract on HBO. I listen to some of their vids once a weak. The tribute to Ali and a video called "Boxing 2010's the good & bad" are masterpieces.
HBO will often distort stories to make a fighter more marketable by having a relatable troubled childhood. They did the same **** with Ortiz by exaggerating how hard his life was. He wasn't abandoned the way they want us to believe he was, he had an older sister watching out for him. They tried to be slick by not mentioning how Sexy Sergio did very well in soccer and cycling, I think he was dope enough to go pro. I clearly remember Lampley mentioning on broadcast that Sexy Sergio did some modeling for Adidas. Part of what made Sexy Sergio amazing is that he started boxing at 21, but this Ring Life pretends it didn't happen that way. Anyways, I didn't know he comes from a boxing fam.
I heard he was good at those spots, but I don't think he ever did well in the sense that he was really making much money off it. Looks like the cut out part of the story. When he arrived to Spain from Argentina, all of his luggage was stolen along with all of his contact info, but he found Sarmiento's number in his pocket. He actually came with his ex girlfriend to Spain. It's the only time I ever heard Martinez mention any girls weirdly enough.
