This content is protected April 4th, 2008 Multiple sources have told TheKnockoutNetwork that Edison Miranda has found a new home for his next bout. Rumored to be fighting on Showtime in May and then again on June 21, Miranda is now set to fight on HBO on June 21 against an opponent to be announced. Miranda will share the bill with the WBC welterweight eliminator bout between undefeated Andre Berto and Miguel Rodriguez. It is still not known which of the bouts will be the main event on the show. That most likely depends on the opponent that agrees to face Pantera on the card. The sources also told me that former world titlist Jeff Lacy called his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, and showed interest in the bout. When a deal was put on the table, Lacy decided to move in a different direction. Sakio Bika, winner of The Contender Season 3, was also offered the fight but he turned it down because his wife is expecting a baby around the same time as the fight. Cool man, thanks for the news. How many other "limited" fighters have HBO and Showtime in their pockets and can't get a damned dance partner??
Why couldn't HBO get a guy like Christian Sanavia? They have the ability (and the checkbook) to get these mid-level European guys. They got Branco for Gatti and Cotto, they got Stieglitz for Andrade, and they got Trabant for Berto. Surely they can give someone a good payday to come over and be fodder for Miranda.
Thing is HBO supposedly had already lost interest and wouldn't pay for Pascal, is the word on the streets after the ESPN double header. HBO will have to approve whoever it ends up being, for obvious reasons.
just the thought of anyone having a baby with Sakio's wife makes me ill Guess he really wants that citizenship
It is between one of two fighters. One is a very very big fight. The other would be a fun war to watch.
he is posting his own **** i think he's allowed. My guess based on what Pantera said Big fight: Jermain Taylor Fun war to watch: Sakio Bika forget Mayorga the difference in size is too much
