No Mayorga is sitting idle waiting for his fight with Pavlik. Oh but how fun would it be to see Miranda and Mayorga together at a press conference!
You guys need to knock this **** off! There will not be a Pavlik/Mayorga fight. The whole stupid rumour started with an off the cuff comment Arum made about a call he got from Don King. Mayargo is not now, nor has he ever been serious candidate for Pavlik. Lockett in June, Duddy in September, Abraham in January '09. Boo
That's too bad for fight fans ... Miranda, two Taylor fights then he goes backwards with two or three easy fights. I was hoping he would have more trouble making weight and couldn't last another nine months at middle. Maybe he won't be able to, even if that is their current intention. I'd rather he go immediately to KOing the one dimensional Abraham and then move up for his next fight. Better fights await him at SMW and at 6'2", 42 1/2" chest, 32" waist, he has the frame to easily move up. He is essentially a longer Kessler with better fighting instincts. If Kessler can get to the top of SMW then Pavlik has a chance to be champ there too (and in really short order). Actually, the three middleweights or ex-middleweights, Taylor, Miranda, & Pavlik, have a pretty good chance to battle almost immediately for the top five or six spots up to number one. Taylor's reach, power, and superior athleticism will make him competitive and a threat to any of the top SMWs. Miranda's gonna be a little shortish in height, but he makes up for that with long arms combined with better pound for pound power then probably any of the SMWs. Kelly is a walking skeleton to make middle so he is going to be entering his more natural weight division and it is apparent that he has the requisite skills and fighting instincts to overcome the challenge of more athletic and powerful opponents in comparison to the diet of Euro fighters the current denizens of SMW have experienced and enjoyed in fighting each other over the past many years. Their addition to the division will be a vast improvement as at a minimum they will not be looking to avoid anyone and all of the SMWs will be forced to man up (and rise to the occasion if they are able) or substantiate the reality that a few SMWs at the very top are no better than the three ex-middleweights while half the SMW top ten are merely average and below them.
Sure kid ... whatever you say. I'm convinced Pavlik will get destroyed by the incredible talent at SMW. He should retire and avoid a butt-kicking huh? lol Kid, you do know you're talking about 168 lb men right? Maybe 180/190 normally? These "real men" are fairly little guys ... like defensive backs ... so there's not much diff between a 160/168 to 190 lb man to attribute "real" from not. You know what I mean?
I think you make some good points. Kelly would go very well against a lot of guys at SMW, in my opinion. Good news for Pantera, I want to see him fight again soon!
7 years to become champ and you would have him move up without making a defense because he isn't fighting who YOU want to see him fight? Whatever...... Not that this is even a Pavlik thread anyhow.....
I heard about it before what Arum said, see my previous posts here in ESB. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1523578#post1523578 Dont be surprised, from what I hear it is a very very good chance of happening.
