He's still very clever with that aggression, though, rather than Hatton-esque!

The Byron Mitchel stoppage was a bit early, but Calzaghe was on top and possible would have put him down again in the later rounds

Nah the Mitchell stoppage was very good, Joe had him down a couple times, hurt again and was dominating.

I dont know why the BHOP Calzaghe fight is so hotly debated. BHop has demonstrated no KO power against fighter his own size and Calzaghe has been in with a better fighter in a faded Eubanks.

BHOP had his chance to be a legend when he fought RJJ but he just got beat up and completely owned!

As soon as they start to staredown Joe tells him to take his hood off. Hopkins does not flinch, they keep the staredown going and I see a look in Joe's face that I haven't seen since the Lacy fight. Hopkins himself seems to be getting into this fight more than any other since Trinidad. I have a feeling this one is gonna be a war.

I agree, was thinking the exact same thing when I watched it earlier.

A good thing for me because Calzaghe always performs at his best when he has that bit of fear in him.

It will be a war, I agree with you man. This is why I'm like "WTF!?" when anyone suggests it'll be boring.

This could be fight of the year, if you ask me.

Yeah he is a mentally sharp fighter but B-Hop is starting to get into his head, that will be good for Joe with traning and keeping him busy, but Bernard is not a fighter you want messing with your mind.

Then again he has never faced a Joe Calzaghe who is the smartest fighter I would say to get in the ring with Hopkins and vise versa, plus Hopkins might hold a slight size advantage when they both get in the ring. It will be suprising to see that Hopkins is gonna be the bigger fighter.

    I can't wait for this

joe's body language says "flustered" and he has taken to chewing gum at the pressers in imitation of his countryman Hatton... the reason he is chewing gum is because someone chewing gum with their mouth open communicates a lack of tension/fear/intimidation, whatever, but he wouldn't be chewing gum if he didn't need it to bolster himself, I really feel like hopkins is getting to him to be honest

Bhop is in execution mode. He is not in happy mode like Winky and even Tarver. He is going back to his grass roots. He does not want to lose this fight.
