fury has had three fights telecast in the states. two were complete stinkers. the only thing he has going for him, promotion wise, is a huge mouth. ward was an olympic medalist. won the smw tourney. he is more known than wilder. kovalev has years of exciting fights on hbo. fury has had three fights broadcast here. then if you go on youtube, kovalev is exciting. fury freaking stinks the joint out. that is why it won't draw those numbers. add in boxing is dying every day here.
far more people saw Jennings-Dimitrenko on ESPN tonight than saw Fury-Pianeta. then add in fury's fight was an absolute stinker, while the ESPN fight was entertaining.
WFurygob of rationally pointless goblty gook. Your reasoning is like my cell phone spell check, cometely off the wall. Essentially you didn't really try to rationally counter my points, certainly in a systemic manner, except to make these statements : a Kovale is exciting( So is Wilder) b Ward is an olymipc medalist (irrelevant to sales, but so is Wilder) c Ward is more known than Wilder (debatable, but he is more known as a boring fighter, AND in the lower weight) So, essentially we've established, and whether you are intellectually capable of understanding it or not, you've implicitly accepted, that Ward Kovalev and Fury Wilder are a comp for ppv. As Wilder fury are he's and better at self promotion, they have a higher ceiling than Ward Kovalev, which is probably their floor in terms of buys. So thanks for playing green gnat! You have been fun to school!
Minor point easily dealt with: kovs exciting ess = Wilders, Wards boringness = or > Furys. Debatable whther he is more known. More shown? Yeah, but promoters are smart enough to realize that is a minor and correctable issue on the balance
Unlike you, I don't deal in absolutes. I never said it WOULD do better than that fight. In fact, I think that was my second or third post on the string I've had with you, saying that was a potential low end. What intellectually challenged people like you fail to understand is it's not result, it's process. The tools are there for it to be good. It will probably do better than Ward Kovalev. But maybe not. So again, as I've noticed you were done a few times, you are shifting the goalposts through false equivalency. The fair thing, since I say Wilder fury will PROBABLY do good, and you say it will CERTAINLY do bad, is for you to simply agree to leave the forum permanently if it does better than Ward Kovalev.
Doesn't Chisora need to be much higher considering he basically got a draw with Whyte? And I balk at Breazeale ranking that high. What has he accomplished? But then it kind of seems like we are out alternatives...
whatever you like. the internet means nothing to me. much rather be up in Wisconsin camping and boating.
I'm not entirely sure you followed along with what I said beforehand in framing it, but then you've never really shown much capacity as that goes, so I'll just let it go.
