Summary of Changes from Last Month
#4 Eddie Chambers moves up one when Boytsov refused eliminator#5 Samuel Peter moves up one when Boytsov refused eliminator#6 Ruslan Chagaev moves up one when Boytsov refused eliminator#7 Chris Arreola moves up one when Boytsov refused eliminator#8 Jonathon Banks moves up when both Dimitrenko and Boytsov refuse eliminator#9 Odlanier Solis moves up when Boytsov, Dimitrenko and Mormeck refuse eliminator#10 Robert Helenius added to replace Jean Marc Mormeck#11 Denis Boytsov drops below ten after refusing eliminator#12 Alexander Dimitrenko drops below ten after refusing eliminator#13 Derrick Rossy moves up one to make room for the addition of Tony Thompson#14 Maurice Harris moves up one to make room for the addition of Tony Thompson#15 Tony Thompson Added to ratingsChris Arreola removed from ratingsJean Marc Mormeck removed for refusing eliminatorAlexander Povetkin removed from ratings

So....we have Mormeck, Dimitrenko, and Boystov losing their spots because they refused an eliminator. Assuming Peter is ineligible since he was the last IBF mandatory, then the list of potential fighters for the IBF tourney are....

Chambers, Arreola, Banks, Helenius, Rossy, Harris, Thompson.

I understand Povetkin was also offered a spot but we don't know if he will accept as of now, and he has lost his IBF rating.

4 of those guys will probably take the challenge....I'm guessing Arreola and Helenius opt out...possibly Banks too (if Banks won the tourney, he'd be obligated to fight Wlad...).

Kudos to the IBF for trying to bring clarity to the ratings.

if the tourney involves all three of ec, ca, tt, would be fun to watch even tho the winner wouldn't be much of a threat to wlad (w/ tt making the best fight of the three)

Would be great but then you end up with the same problems as the SMW Super 6 with injuries, delays, drop outs and general chaos.

The IBF troubles getting their contenders interested in a tournament shows the lack of commitment and professionalism of these **** contenders. Too lazy, too well-fed, too bored. These dipshits get a guaranteed paycheck by their promoters, live in good apartments and drive a decent middle class car if not better.

Compare this to the 70s when contenders were living in the gutter and were grateful they could earn money working their way up to a title shot. No guaranteed weekly check in the mail from your promoter, no car, no nice apartment, no flatscreen TV with surround sound system, no nothing.

Right now the K Bros have everyone running scared. That's a shame too, since the IBF tournament would be for a mandatory shot in late 2011 or early 2012, and anything can happen between now and then, including Wlad losing.

Mormeck and Boystov are going the WBA route---they want Haye. Dimitrenko doesn't need to risk it when he's got the Europe belt.

I think this tourney is made for someone like Tony Thompson...the kind of guy who is deserving but is ducked by every other contender.

You think Chambers beats a 240 lb Sam Peter? Granted Chambers improved alot since the fight with Peter but Peter at 265 is a totally different proposition then Peter at 240. Both fighters were equally trounced by Wlad.

I don't see Chambers beating TT either but who knows...TT has struggled with injury and hasn't been terribly active. Hard to count Chambers out.

It would be awesome if Arreola and/or Helenius participate but I wouldn't hold my breath.
