I think this is a brilliant way to reimplement same day weigh ins in boxing. Instead of having Pac and Cotto fight at 145 where the Cotto people are pissed because he has to possibly be weight drained (one pound less than 146 which he weighed in for Clottey) and the Pac fans are worried about there guy fighting at a huge fight night weight disadvantage, with Pac around 148 and Cotto possibly ten pounds or even more heavier, how about making catch weight fights have same day weight ins?

A same day weigh in of 147 sounds great to me for Pac vs Cotto :yep

Of course that would wreck Cotto's chance of getting a massive weight advantage over Pac.

Hell, even a same day weigh in of 150 would be good.

I don't really want to see a weight drained Cotto, but I don't want to see Gatti / Gamanche 2 either.

That's not a new idea. That's how boxing originally was. But fighters killed themselves to make the weight and were in no condition to fight. That's why they do weigh-ins the day before. So fighters can rehydrate..

If you don't want to to see a weight-drained Cotto vs Pac, you should be against same-day weigh-ins.. not for it..
