Its the enviroment of today's boxing ..Losses back in the day were nothing ..You lose you work to get better ..Now you lose its almost retirement time ..
what makes it even worse is that they fill their resumes with nothing but bums just to keep their streak nowadays. so when they actually face a legit threat they get whooped on. the competition is already pretty weak in general compared to other eras. theyre not getting enough learning experiences. it would be better if most fighters suffered a loss early in their careers just so we can see if they can overcome it
He does seem to be letting it get to him. You can see in his eyes. Hes a young guy though so he just needs to go back an sort this weight **** out n move up. Im still going to be watching him regardless. Im a fan
Yeah back then they would lose an say **** it cause a few weeks later they were back in the ring. Today its like 3 months of prep time so i see why it pisses him off.
Its a slap in the face to Barrera ,Morales ,Marquez , and all the other guys who came up taking on all comers ..Winning some losing some but never stopping them from greatness . What would Barrera be if he just packed it in after the Jr Jones loss ? Or Morales after his first loss to Barrera ? What about when Marquez lost to John ? Same with Manny after Morales ?? This is what seperates the greats ! Mental Toughness !!
this is why i always say todays era sucks. back then people had to fight cause they were hungry. no money to eat. now people dont have to. thats why its so watered down.
Amen brotha ! Too much money for mediocrity ! No one is hungry any more for greatness ..And all these divisions don't help the sport ..This is why Rios can miss weight for 2 fights and get a gift !
Honestly none of this would ever happen if it wasn't for the fact that if a guy loses his undefeated record he loses his marketability. Chuvalo lost many many fights but he stayed marketable because he always made for a good fight. Brandon should be the same way. He's an entertaining guy but he's not the greatest thing since Ali. Who cares. He should be the type of guy who can take a loss and keep his reputation. Shame. P.s. I love how Smitty totally called him on that bull**** holding excuse. S: I thought you lost. R: Have you ever seen a guy win a fight by holding? S: I won a fight by holding. R: Studder, studder studder.... That was brilliant.
Ya I didn't mind what he said or how he said it. I don't think the criticism is getting to him either. Rios is man. He's got a thick enough skin to not get rattled by this. If anything it'll motivate him the next time.
That's why it's better to lose like a man rather than win like a *****. Trying to convince yourself of a win is worse than accepting your loss I see all main contenders at 140 schooling him but he has a punchers chance against them all too,era see
